Hi,
Im on limited budget... 1200-1300 is the max i can put on a laptop.
Im looking for a laptop strong enough to run Wold of Warcraft or anmy 3D games smoothly. and i mean it has to be smooth, no jaggy laggy crap.
Before you judge me, i'm not a noob. but if i buy this Toshiba, it will be my first Toshiba laptop... so yes, im a noob to toshiba brand.
I was initially looking for a latop with ATI card but those laptop are highend and cost over 2500.00.
The Satellite A100 TA9 is the cheapest i found and it comes with:
2 GB ram
Core 2 Duo
Geforce Go 7600 128MB
Since i only trust ATI and NVIDIA when it comes to gameing i decided not to pick any laptop that has GMA 950... i don't know the GMA 950 enough...
Anyway, do you beleive the A100 TA9 is good enough to run wold of warcraft or ny 3D games ? has anyone tried playing on the Satellite A100 TA9 yet ????
FYI. My current laptop a HP Compaq V2000 1GB ram + ATI M200 can run world of warcraft no problem.. but its a bit slow and jaggy. (like 10 frames per second). So i need something better than the HP Compaq V2000.
Is the Satellite A100 TA9 the right choice for gaming ?

The 7600 Go should run WoW fine - especially with 2GBs of RAM. It's not a hardcore gamer though - I wouldn't expect it to run games like BF2142 at Max. settings.

k.
For those interested,
World of warcraft is running perfectly on the A100 TA9.
It doesn't beat my home Desktop Core2Duo + ATI X1900 Pro... but it definately much better than it was on the Compaq HP V2000.
From time to time (like every 20 sec) there's a 0.05 sec freezing... probably due to graphic loading.
I tried to kill all the apps running in background leaving only the basic apps but it only helped a slight little.
The hard part is the keyboard adaptation curve, i was wondering why i had some trouble moving in World of Warcraft... i though it was caused by the dam Spill-proof keyboard junk, then i realized that it was the (Media center, play, stop, forward...) pannel on the left hand side.
That 1.5 inch wide pannel change the ergonomy completely. All your keys are more to the right than other laptops..
Because controlling in world of warcraft requires to leave your fingers constantly on
QWE,ASD,ZXC keys... your palm will end up slighly over the touch pad.
You have to disable your gamepad to avoid any unwanted ingame actions.
Its too early to recommend this laptop for pure gaming. I will be playing world of warcraft at work (during lunch break etc...) .. in few weeks ill pop some full reviews to help the next consumer choosing.
So far i only hate the spill proof keyboard genre...
Toshibat Satellite A100 TA9 good for GAMING ???
