I have a A135-S4527 that I up/downgraded to XP Pro. Since I started I have been using a wireless mouse. Now I decided to start using the touchpad, it does NOT work. Any suggestions Thank you.

Go into the Control Panel and click on "Mouse". Make sure you have Enable touchpad selected.

Sometimes using an external mouse disables the touchpad.

Thanks Tim/Pixelot. Touchpad is enabled in Control Panel/Mouse. I also tried removing external mouse and powering up from scratch but then I get no touchpad action. Can't do anything. Contol Panel indicates "Device is working properly". Hope someone out there may have come across this problem.
    Thanks.

Actually mine is not working either. This happened to me once before and somehow I got it fixed by playing around with uninstalling and reinstalling. But if I remember right, I had to do that with more than the device driver for the touchpad. I think I also had to reinstall the touch and launch driver too. If I have time later, I'm going to try and fix it again. I fixed it again but don't ask me how because I can never remember how I did it.

    Go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/
and look for drivers for the Satellite P200 (PSPB6) and download and install the touch pad on/off utilitty. This gave my A135 W4427 and icon in the task bar to turn the touch pad on & off, but not the FN-F9.

Have you tried hitting the fn button that disables/enables the touchpad? (On my P105 it's Fn + F8. Sometime i hit it by accident when trying to hit other fn commands and disable my touchpad on accident. Yea, sometimes when you plug an external mouse it will disable your touchpad depending on your settings.

Here's something just the opposite --- my mousepad wouldn't stop working. The FN/F9 keys that used to enable or disable for some weird and wonderful reason, do not work anymore. I had to go to the Control panel / Mouse and in there, disable the touchpad.
Any idea as to why the FN/F9 keys are not enabling / disabling any longer?
