I did some of the tweaks suggested in that guide in the forum here, but I was wondering if anyone new and could suggest items that I could disable from the control panel>administrative tools>system configuration>STARTUP
I'l skip thing that I'd obviously want, Like Nvidia's stuff that I'd be using when gaming, but can I uncheck any of these other options safely?
-Proterctor Suite QL
-Chicony traybar
-Synaptics pointing device [I actually disabled the buttons on it already, kept readying my weapon in Oblivion and it actually punched a guard on me once] I'm guessing I could, but just in case something else happens to be attached to it...
-ConfigFree(TM) Tray
-HW Setup
-SVPWUTIL Application
-KeNotify Application
-Toshiba Zooming Utility [I think I already disabled this in services.msc, but should I uncheck it here as well?]
-Toshiba Flash Cards
I'd ask about "services" as well, but there's a lot of them and I don't want to make a big project of this. If you know of any anyway, share, I'll take some free info any day.
THANKS for any input you guys choose to provide.
EDIT: I was looking at how many processes I have running. It fluctuates between 63 and 70 when I close all but this window. If I totally optimized it, keeping only that which I need for Vista, Gaming, DVD/HD-DVD, Internet, & antivirus [but I don't have firewall or anti-spyware at the moment so its not incl in the above number], what's the minimum processes I could be running?

protector suite is your fingerprint security, so that could go. the Toshiba flash cards have an option to disable from the start button area, but I think they shutdown by them selfs when a game starts, they are the ghost menus that pull down when you put your pointer at the top of your screen, they will stop a game if active while gaming i had it happen a few times.
