Anyone know of a solution to make a two-fingered tap act as a middle (scrollwheel) click on the Synaptics touchpad of the Portege M800 (specs in my sig)? I tried installing the latest drivers from the Toshiba Asia-pacific support site, but it does not offer any such function. Google is of no help; other brand users seem to have a similar problem with the synaptics tp, but no clear solution.

The touchpad has 'tap zones' which IMHO are pretty useless on that small touchpad, but no recognition of two finger gestures.

If anyone can suggest a solution (incl. registry key modifications), I'd be grateful.

My older NEC S3300 has the two finger tap for middle click, and it's indispensible in Opera for quickly opening a link in a background tab. I wonder why Toshiba's latest model doesn't have this useful function.

Apart from this major annoyance, I am quite pleased with my new M800. :)
