I just can't belive that toshibas are so recklessnessly build...If i use the vga output and the notebook connected to via AC the picture quality is so baaaaad... black, white and gray lines appear on the monitor and the screen flickers. When i run it on battery the screen is perfect. I will call tomorow our local toshiba dealer and tell him to replace my notebook or to send me one for comparison.

Toshiba: This this is the last time I buy a notebook from you or suggest one to my colleagues!

I have debuged this issue with 2 LCD screens, switching on and off various components, change setting for the screen and graphich card...i just can't belive the AC is guilty. To who can i send the bill ?!

I don't know what i have been thinking when i bought a toshiba...must have been a moment mentall defective.

I will go back to Dell.

Did I tell you that I HATE my toshiba?

I have no clue what I'm talking about (which has never stopped me before) but just in case, did you try 2 totally different locations to plug in the laptop/monitor? Just thinking there might be interference on the line. Only a thought. Otherwise, I'd be complaining too.

I have removed my speakers, moved the vga and AC cord...still nothing. I think the interference is somewhere on the mainboard in the notebook.

Hello, just wanted to update this issue: Toshiba service gave me a replacement when my u200 got into service...they found out that the satelite u200 doe NOT support the resolution of 1440x900.....just great! :(
