Can someone tell me if its Santa Rosa? cause I read the details 800 Mhz FSB but it has only 667 FSB, so i am guessing it is not?

    Please help?

P.S. Which one has more flex of keyboard, 300 or 305?

The laptop uses the T5450 correct?

Anyway, yes that is the Santa Rosa platform. Intel always has one or two low-end, low-budget CPUs in the family that can still get the job done. The clock speeds are lower, and the FSB is usually down a notch from the flagship speed.

I'm not sure if you noticed, but Toshiba was only offering the crappy U200's here in Canada that *only* had the Core Duo - i.e. *Not* Core 2 Duo.

The point is - while practically all the U200's in the US had Core 2 Duo cpus; virtually none had them here in Canada - I think that's saying something about where Toshiba is dumping their older or crappier CPU's..

I just bought a U305-S5127 from Costco.com and had it sent to someone in the US who's then sending it to me. The great thing about purchasing from Costco is that we here in Canada have 6 months to return it if anything fatal is wrong with the computer (versus 14 days at FutureCrap/BestBoob/Staples, etc.)

    Happy Buying :)

Yep! If you read their return policy - it states that you may return *ANY* item purchased anywhere at *Any Costco Warehouse*; plus a friend of mine bought a camera here from costco canada and got a full refund of it at costco in the US.

Be warned though - costco.com's (aka costco usa) return policy for computers is 3 months; versus costco canada's computer return policy being 6 months; and while I'm not entirely sure which policy would take effect when purchasing there and bringing it here - I'm sure 3 months is More than enough to tell if anything is direly wrong with the computer; and if it so turns out to be 6 months - all the better :)

I e-mailed both costco.ca & costco.com about this in the past and there isn't any clear-cut guideline - so I guess it'll be up to the disgression of the manager that's doing returns.

All in all, buy from costco.com - at least a 3 months return policy for a FULL refund; if you bring it back here, it *might* be 6 months - eitherway, it's a Hella of a lot more time than you'd get at any retail store here in Canada or otherwise.

P.S. Since I didn't have a US Credit card (which is needed for purchases on Costco.com) - I went to my local costco canada warehouse, picked up a costco cash card and it worked on Costco.com :)

Just make sure you add a wee bit more cash for the conversion rate if you decide to go this way.
