    U300-fa3 13 Inch (canadian Model)

    I finally couldnt resist the temptation of low price(1000 cd) for a 13 inch and got the above.
    The specs for money are fantastic and it is running great too except the fan noise which is almost constant unless idling or on powersave with word editing or surfing only not both.
    Got the thermal pad fanless design....and it has helped about 40%.
    Any ideas i still have 10 days to return but i dont want to except for fan issue.

    Well, I have the 1.5GHZ version (forgot the model number) and after I installed Win XP the fan is so much quiet now.

    I also installed RightMark CPU clock utility, and you cant undervolt a lot with this processor, but now I find that the fan is ver quiet now, it only work when the machine is working at 1.5ghz for a long time (like playing a game for example). I dont know if this could help to you, I think its a great machine.

    Try undervolting, helps a lot, cut like my fan time by half, less on time and faster cool time. I use RMClock.

    I am returning it -cant get a new processor and undervolt, got dell xps 1330 from staples it is very quiet -200 dollars more than toshiba
    Fan noise is deal breaker for me

    i got this laptop too and fan speed is not constant at all under xp. sometimes is fast and slower and faster....
