I saw a U400 at John Lewis in Oxford street and was quite impressed. The design is slick, nice screen and seemed to perform well.

Thinking of getting one but loathe Vista. However I cant see any XP drivers published on Toshiba's European Sites. Im I right in assuming U405 drivers will work on a U400?

Also, U300 I bought and sent back had heat and fan noise issues anyone know if these have been fixed with U400/405? I'll be getting a Penryn which should run cooler.

I just ordered a Satellite Pro U400 (note the "Pro") from toshibadirect.com that comes with XP Professional rather than Vista. Maybe the Pro series are available over there also? The part number is U400-S1001X if that helps.

I don't know about the heat and fan because I haven't received it yet. The U405 review on this site didn't complain too much about either, though.

Yes the Pro is available here. Probably the best way to go.
