well i was trying to dissamble the lcd, and try to take the lid off to paint it, but i found that its connected a bunch of wires and a layer of what looks like aluminum foil. so i gave up, and started to put it baack together.
while screwing in a screw, i dropped it by accident and fell into a small hole, and now the screw is INSIDE the machine. i can hear it if i shake the laptop. cant get it out. im pretty sure this is not good...because it fell into the fan area. its running ok right now, but does anyone know how to take the top off the upper part of the base? for the m60, its the part in which the multimedia keys, and the power button are surrounded by. ill try to add some pictures in a few minutes.
just out of curiosity, will future shop be able to fix this if i cant get it??
ok, if someone could tell me how to add pictures from my sony memory stick, please do so. if not, i can email them to anyone who might be able to help. thank you all

Well, are you still under warranty with Futureshop and/or Toshiba? I don't know if they'd give you service because you tried tampering with the Hardware, but you could try. You might want to take a look in the "How to disassemble Toshiba notebooks" thread here. This is what I say - Take apart the notebook the same way you did before, and using compressed air, blow out the screw.
-
i dont have a compressed air machine, although i dont think it would work. it wont be able to come out the way it did, it fell into one of the hinges, which had a tiny little hole. but i did some further shaking, and now it seems to have lodged itself somewhere because i cant hear it.
i think the only way to get it out is to open the thing up, but my model is not in the Toshiba dissasseble thread.
so what do you guys think?? leave it? or take it to FS? i cant have toshiba do it, as i need the laptop everyday for school. -
Well you don't need a machine - all you need is a can of compressed air. It'd try it first before getting it serviced. If you can't remove it yourself, get it serviced by FS.
-
oh yeah, i do have a can of that stuff...will try it now. but if it doesnt work, is it safe to go to future shop? if they take it apart will it void my warantee?
-
Did you buy it from FS or did you buy it from Toshiba?
-
future shop

Well, then I say let FS try to solve your problem, as they seem the ones who will be backing your system most, not Toshiba.
URGENT need help !!
