Have just reformatted a Toshiba laptop series 5000 WXP SP2 and re-installed drivers from the Toshiba site and am having problems finding a driver for the usb ports. Each time I use the port mentions it would be faster if 2.0 drivers were installed. I cant find a mention of this and probably due to not understanding what I'm doing. Other computers I have this driver comes with the motherboard disk but I cant see it mentioned on the Toshiba download site anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

There's a Microsoft Windows XP Support Bulletin concerning XP SP2 USB Driver problems with a simple fix procedure. You can find it at this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/873169

    1. Click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
    2. Double-click the type of device that you want to update.
    3. Double-click the specific device that you want to update.
    4. Click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver.
    5. Follow the instructions in the Hardware Update Wizard.

Repeat steps 2 through 5 for each USB device.
