Hey all,
Im stuck with this interesting problem. I bought a brand new satellite A33 two weeks ago, and I cannot run my USB modem through the port?? the modem runs @ 500ma, and each port can hold 500ma, but no power would get to it. So I bought a 4 port Externally powered Hub.. It works fine now, But only for about 1/2 hour, when the whole hub powers down? I also have a midi keyboard running through the Hub and it shuts off as well. I have disabled power saving options in Device manager for USb, But to no avail? Anyone else have similar problem? Im running winXP home 512mb Ram 3.06ghz CPU..
Any solution would be much appreciated.

I've known other Toshiba models to have an issue with their USB ports (doesn't provide enough power) even though older models work fine. Have you checked the BIOS of additional options for power management? How about updated drivers for your system, USB or chipset drivers? One other possibility is that the ports can be defective, which may need a systemboard replacement.

I know it is very old post, but I would like any help of this issue.
I have a M30X-144 and any of my USB ports works correcly in 2.0 mode. They keep going ON and OFF constantly). If I deactivate the 2.0 mode, it works fine BUT very slow...
Any idea?
(Sorry for my english...)
