    Hi,

    I just bought a Toshiba Satellite M300-02Q.

There are times where the program I am trying to run (such as a setup file) in a DVD would freeze and I would try to eject the DVD. It would not eject. The dvd driver light would keep blinking. Then I look at My Computers and the DVD is not even there.

Before this, my dvd drive was making a weird noise when I had a DVD in it. Not sure if this had any effect.

Is it a problem with the hardware or Vista? Is there a fix?

    Thanks.

If the disk is still stuck in, use a paper clip and stick it in the hole beside the eject button.
If it does this again, it might be Vista.
Try inserting a disk and wait till the Autorun appears, select to open and try to browse around.

Restart your comp, right after it starts to boot try ejecting it than, before windows starts to load.

After restarting, dvd drive would b there in My computer and I could eject it. But it's annoying to keep restarting.

Sometimes theres nothing wrong with the dvd player, they just catch, or have a driver failure, if it keeps up, I would suggest searching for updated drivers, if that fails, contact your tech support, might just be a bad player.
