    I have an older Toshiba laptop Sattelite 1415-S115 that seems to want to suddenly shut down with no warning. It happens most often when I'm playing a game. Doesn't seem to happen when I'm doing regular computing tasks. I have downloaded and reloaded the display drivers but it still does it. Computer does not seem to be hot when it happens so I don't think it's overheating. Any help out there?

    Shutdown = heat

    Reboot = drivers

    Unit has been on for over two hours with no shutdown...does playing a game from the hard drive cause a computer to heat up?

    A game stresses the cpu which causes it to heat up and over heat.
    Usually playing a game will not overheat the HDD

    clean out the cpu fan with some compressed air.. problem sovled. IIRC the 1415 has two large panels on the bottom of it which you can pull off to access the heatsink and main fan. just pull these off (4 screws, #1 size phillips head screwdrivder), blow out the fan with the compressed air and brush off any extra dust you see with a paint brush.
