Tochiba A105-S4294 Vista Enterprise x64 SP1
Anybody else get this after a new Vista install? I did my own install of XP Pro x64 when new and now moved to Vista x64 and everything I know of is working yet I get an unknown device in my device manager. What is it and how do I fix? I heard something about a fingerprint or user password thing but unless it is not fully Vista x64 compatable, I don't know. I do know for a fact, the the TI card reader and touch pad drivers from Toshiba do not work for x64 Vista, but I found them directly from site and they are working fine.
So far, the only thing not working is some of the Toshiba fuc buttons and no on screan display for any of the few fnc stuff that does work such as monitor brightness and lock fun. What is this under?
Thankx!

Did you ever get this resolved?
Namaiki is right you need the Toshiba Supervisor Utility but you maybe out of luck finding 64-Bit drivers.
I'm guessing your laptop came with 32-Bit Windows and you upgraded to 64-Bit? I'm in the same boat. You need the "Supervisor Password Utility" to resolve this error BUT from my investigation you need the one for your model or serial number and in my case Toshiba only provide a 32-Bit version.
I tried using a 64-Bit version from another model but it refused to install saying the serial number was wrong. I'm currently contacting Toshiba for their assistance. My laptop support 4Gb (but came with 2Gb) so I expect to be able to make use of it. -
Bradavon;
is there anything out there for 32bit? for this problem.
just installed Vista Home Premium
this is one problem and the other is the cd/dvd drive hanging the system.
in original system of xp you could silence the drive or run normal but with the vista clean install you don't get that option.
any thoughts?

As you need 32-Bit, go to Toshiba's website and your model number. You should see drivers there.
EDIT: I see your laptop came with XP. You may find on Toshiba's website they've also provided Vista drivers. The Toshiba Supervisor Utility looks to be serial number specific, so if it's not available you maybe out of luck.
I've not yet solved mine.
