Huh, this is tricky. I'll advise you now, that most likely this isn't possible.
    Issues to consider:

Toshiba have a habit of selling hardware in proprietary form factors. I'm not sure, but there's a chance that the P500 is actually a rebranded Clevo X8100. You're going to have to open that bad boy up and take pictures of your current video card, cooling assembly, connector (if it has any - it might be soldered).
If it DOES use MXM, there's strong chances that it's a low-format slot, since afaik the P500 uses pretty low-end graphics overall, and you may not have room inside to install the 260m (or the slot may be incompatible).

I've taken the liberty to research all that, though, and as far as i can tell the strongest card you can use would be the GTS-250m, like this one here:
    Toshiba Satellite P500 P505 X500 Nvidia Geforce 1GB 34TZ2VB0090 DATZ2GUBAD0 | eBay

And yea, you most likely have a proprietary form factor.

Still, you'd be well served to open it up and take a look.

Not possible, you won't be able to upgrade your gpu at all, the 230 is most likley soldered in and a 260 mgtx is an mxm.
