I upgraded my m35 to Windows Xp Pro. The operating system seems to work fine except that the feature that lets you know what wireless networks are available is not working. However the Intel wireless network is connecting to my home wifi. Does anyone know how to solve this?

    Thank you.

Make sure that the Wireless Zero Configuration service is running (it should be thou). I removed the Intel wireless network software (to prevent any possible conflicts with the internal Windows XP version).

Thank you for your replies. I am not very savvy in terms of computer software. I managed to make to add the Intel Wireless 2200 BG connection icon on the systray and I can connect to my home WIFI through this but when I right click on the other modem icon and I choose View available wireless networks, the window is grayed out. Also, it takes from 2 to 3 minutes for the wireless icons on systray to show after rebooting. Why? Johnston21 and Wordstress suggested that I check several things but I can't understand how. How can I do that? Would you please give me simple instructions? Should I reformat and try to reinstall again? Toshiba won't help because this machine came with Windows XP home edition and they won't support any upgrades!!!!!!!

    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards,
    Jordi

    Jordi:

My suggestions would be to find someone who is computer savvy to assist you with reviewing our replies. This may be a "youngster," or perhaps a local computer shop. You could print off the thread & take it with you.

Trying to 1'st time de-bug solely from BBS's may result in more harm than good.

Also consider putting some key words from the replies in to Google and see what comes up.

Before too long, you'll be well on your way.

    Rgds,
