ok i have the above tittled laptop currently upgraded to a t9500 intel dual core proccessor. i couldnt go to the X series cause it requires a larger front size bus.
Now i am getting bored and seeing i already have alot of use form this computer i am willing to take the risk to do more in debth upgrades.

So my question is, can you replace the mother board in this laptop to one with a larger FSB so it can use the X series dual core. Also have to take into account the GPU.

No, you cannot replace the motherboard, even if you could, would not be worth the money. Better off buying a new laptop.

If you want an x series c2d, you could always put an x9000 2.8 in there. But that wouldn't make much since as the extreme series have unlocked multipliers for overclocking, which the X205 doesn't support. And you won't really notice the 200mhz increase over your T9500.

As far as HDDs go, if 7.2k rpm isn't fast enough, the next step would be a SSD.

I still have an X205, great machine :D

    8700m GT
    160gb 7.2k HDD
