I have a Satellite 105-S4254 (great laptop) running XP ME. I just partitioned it and now have Vista Ultimate running on it and its running great. My question is all the utility programs that came w/XP (dvd-ram, dvd silencer,1394 bus controllers,PCMCIA etc,,,,),do I need to reload those? I mean everything seems fine.

Did you upgrade or do a fresh install? From what I can read in your post it seems as if you did a fresh install. Many of the drivers needed may have been supplied by MS during the install. If you find something not working, I would look for a driver, but otherwise you should be fine.

Right Click on "Computer" in the Start menu in Vista, and select "manage". In the "Computer Management" window click on "Device Manager". In the right pane look for any warnings or unknown devices. If you don't see any you are good to go.

If you have some problems you will need to figure out what device needs a driver and start looking.
