I have a Toshiba M30 laptop (with NVidia g-force fx) with the video-in feature. Now, to view the video and sound coming into the computer i must press the monitor in button to change my video display, that's fine. Now, I can't seem to figure out how to record that video being input into the computer or if it is possible at all?? Any software I can possibly try??
Thanks

You may want to try some of the more popular video capture software on the market. You may be able to get some demo versions to try. You should be able to capture video if the video is an overlay, but if it's sent directly to screen (seperate hardware), you may be out of luck.

Here are some search results for free video capturing software. Can't tell you though if they work in your case.

Im from canada, I have a M30-YSJ, and i have the same problem, but I think it is not a problem... Like Venombite say, I think the video signal is sent directly yo the screen.

I also have an M30 and I'm super disappointed that I have to concur with the previous post -- the feed goes directly to the LCD monitor -- any video software that I've tried can't find any video capture device which sucks 'cause I had assumed that the M30 could do it. I guess this means that the only option is an external device -- something like the Plextor ConvertX PX-AV100U Digital Video Converter USB 2.0 which I found at Tiger.ca (for my fellow canucks). I think the M30 meets the minimum standards: "Pentium® 4 1.8 GHz. 256 MB RAM. 5400 RPM HDD. Video card with 24-bit resolution capability and DirectX® support. Windows® compatible sound card that supports 48KHz playback. DirectX 9.0b. Hi-Speed USB 2.0". Thoughts, alternatives, anyone?

You may also want to take a look at the ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0. This also uses the USB 2.0 and I've always liked the ATI capture devices for my desktop. It's approx $150CDN from Futureshop.
