Hello,
A couple weeks ago I bout a Satellite A305-S6858. I don't know if I just didn't notice it before, but the viewing angle is kind of... bad. Looking at the screen, from a single position, the top seems dark with high contrast, and the bottom seems bright without much contrast (if any). When I duck down, the bottom looks normal (good contrast and everything), and the top looks really dark.
I cleaned the screen (several times) with Nice 'n Clean cleaning wipes (from Wal-mart). My question is: I don't recall paying much attention to noticing how it looked *before* I cleaned it. Is it possible that cleaning it has reduced the viewing angle somehow? I use a little pressure when cleaning, but not a lot. I did notice even with minimal pressure (just enough to push the wipe around the screen and get some stuck-on things off) it can change color a little wherever pressure is applied. Is this the type of damage you get by pressing too hard?
I really noticed it when looking at www.tweakxp.com. The background image appears normal towards the top of the page, and faded (or even invisible) towards the bottom, depending on my view angle. Does anyone else notice this?
Thanks!
Viewing angle?
