1st of all the laptop is the Toshiba Satellite X205-S9800
So i just traded my desktop for this laptop, and im new to vista so please bare with me.
My main concern is the wireless is SLOW!. Like slower than dial up. If i hook the laptop directly up the the cat-5 line its really fast.
My desktop was also really fast with the wireless, but i was using a Linksys wireless USB network adapter "which i gave away with my Desktop because i thought i wouldn't need it considering its built in".

I finally got so pissed i went on ebay and ordered this.

Not sure if that will fix the slow-ness or not?

Im really starting to hate vista. Any ideas?

Is it when you are running on battery? If so, it might be similar to a problem I had. If you have your power profile setup to battery saving for your wireless card, Vista uses an 802.11 power saving technique which not all routers support. For me, with a netgear wireless router, this resulted in a connection running at no more than 10% speed.
