I have an Satellite M35X-S311. It has a 400Mhz FSB.
I'm thinking about upgrading to a Pentium M 755 which runs at 2.0Ghz with a 400Mhz FSB. I can do that right?
If so, my next question is ... how do I access the CPU. My guess is through the keyboard but I don't know the best way to do it. I wouldn't want mess it up.
Thanks.

I have a related question. I bought the new M40 but it has the slow 730 processor, is it possible to upgrade it later? And if it is possible would it completely void the warranty? I'm trying to figure out if I should get the extended toshiba warranty or just leave it at the 1 year warranty and then upgrade the cpu after that. Any info on the usefullness of the toshiba extended warranties would also be helpful

1. The CPU on both units should be able to be upgraded.
2. Yes, it will void your warranty
3. I say get the extended warranty. I have a Toshiba notebook and I I also got one for my bro's GF, both with the 2 year extended warranty. I must say it was useful for my Bro's GF. Her system needed a new systemboard, multiple keyboards, modem jack, etc... and all after the 1 year standard warranty. Without the extended warranty, it would have cost her over $1000CDN for all the parts and labor. I definitely recommend getting the manufacturer's extended warranty plan. Don't bother with in-store extended warranties, those usually are a rip-off.
