Hey, if we buy a laptop in the store that has 3 years standard warranty, how much does it costs to upgrade to onsite?

I know they have a url for checking upgrades to warranties:

    Toshibadirect - Service Plans

but I want to know the cost before actually buying.

On their direct site when ordering the upgrade is 99$, is that the same?

Depends on whos honoring the standard warranty.

If a retailer [like Costco] and your credit card [like American express] are providing you with a 3 year warranty, Toshiba will still only honor the 1 year [I know because I went through the same process].
Thus, if you upgrade to 3 years OnSite, they will have you pay the difference based off the 1 year standard warranty. This is because Toshiba has no part in the warranty extensions; Costco covers the 2nd year, CC covers the third, etc...

I actually ended up compromising and getting a 2 year On-Site from Toshiba for a $100 upgrade [and having a 2 yr Costco warranty]. If you take this route, you can get a 1 or 2 yr OnSite and still have that 3rd year covered from your original 3-yr warranty.

    Extended Service Plans
Check out the above site. Call ToshibaDirect and you can haggle with them on the purchase [I did this].

    Good luck

If the 3 year is through Toshiba, then the upgrade will be based off that. Should be a pretty minimal cost to switch from Standard to On-Site since you already have the 3 yr base.

Still, call Toshibadirect. You can haggle with them to an extent.

    Good luck
