I just got an A65-S1064 Toshiba Satellite for cheap on Craigslist because of the power pin in the charging jack was broken off. Apparently this is a common failure, as I had replaced the jack on a friend's A65 a year or so ago. At least this time I knew what I was in for! So anyway, I fixed this and the notebook powered right up. I reloaded it from an original A65 recovery disk, and everything is A-OK except for the sound. If I turn the volume all the way up, I can JUST BARELY hear sounds from the speakers. If it isn't cranked up, forget about it. Any ideas on this? I'm not so eager to take the thing apart again after just having it fully disassembled but I fear that it's a hardware problem :(
