Hi, My friend in AZ has a Toshiba laptop A215-S4807. We've been trying to get Skype working between us and it worked yesterday but for some reason today her webcam isn't responding. I can hear her but can't see her. She can see and hear me. She says that her camera is built into the top of her laptop screen. Normally there's a light that comes on when it's active and it's not coming on. Any ideas on how she can get it working again? I tried the Toshiba support site and found the users guide but it's no help as far as the webcam. TIA!

(In case you didn't figure it out, I'm not in AZ so am trying to help her long-distance.)

    Hi...
Never mind. We figured it out. It was that she hadn't actually connected to the internet first. I didn't think of that. I thought she was always connected since she has a wireless network. Maybe that will help someone else though. Thanks!

Hi guys i have also facing the same problem like" webcam driver open fail. Please restar camera or computer" message. As you guys talk earlier i have tried all possible as discussed in pervious forum but could not able to solve it. I have satellite pro A300 laptop with model "PSAG1A". Now i am using xp and i have tried it all the way by installing/unstalling camera asstant software, Hide MS program frm msconfig..etc but no use.. I tried to download the driver from toshiba's web site but it only contains the assistant software not the driver. And as well my laptop is not showing any web cam device at device manager. Previously it was working well. Any body figure out what's going on????
