Hi everybody.
I seem to be having a little trouble with my integrated webcam which is a Chicony USB 2.0 webcam. All of my drivers are up-to-date with the latest Camera Assistant Software software.
My webcam worked for the first week that I opened it from December 25th in 2009. Suddenly around January, it randomly stopped working. It never bothered me as I never use my webcam much but as it comes to me now, I missed going on webcam with my family last night that I don't see often. I updated the software for it and reinstalled the drivers for it and everything, nothing is working! I boot up Camera Assistant Software and a message comes up saying "Webcam is either disabled or has failed. Please check your webcam settings." First of all, where on the hell of earth is the webcam settings ? I've looked up i've looked down but I see nothing! Every option I pick gives me that message, even the settings of Camera Assistant Software.
Anyways, this morning I managed to boot up the software for it. It refused to boot up last night since it didn't recognize the webcam. However, when I was on msn, I decided to give the upper top of where my webcam is a little smack, not hard, just a tap. Luckily enough, it was connected and it worked for about 1 minute until it gave out. I tried it again, it worked again. I'm going to take my laptop to Bestbuy to where I bought it and have them take off the cover of the monitor for me and take a look. I know, Bestbuy technicians right ? You are all welcome to laugh at the fact but I am unfortuantly poor and don't feel like forking out much money towards my other pc technician fixing it while Bestbuy can do it for free. Anyways, any ideas on what this will be ? My idea is that it is a loose wire or something going on. If it is a faulty webcam, I shall call Toshiba and ask them about it. Worse comes to worse, I need to send it in to them.
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: If I take it with me to BestBuy, do I take it in the original packaging or just in my laptop bag ? Thanks!
Webcam troubles!
