    Hey everyone,

I have had my Toshiba Satellite M45 for about 2 years now. After one year, the whole system failed and the motherboard, hard drive and dvd burner had to be replaced, which was done under warranty at CompUSA. When I got it back, it had no issues but a couple weeks later, it would turn on (LEDs would light up, etc.) but the screen would not come on and the fan would slowly reach full speed and stayed there. I opened the heatsink, cleaned it of dust, put new thin layer of thermal paste and also re-seated the memory and it worked again like there was no original issue. Then I had the same problem again today, did the same thing and nothing happened. Funny thing is, this only happens when i move the laptop from it's location somewhere else. Any idea what this could be?

    Thanks!

My girlfriend had the same problem with the same laptop. Unfortunately you are going to have to send it in, again. This is a mb issue since this model has integrated video so the only way to fix it is to replace the motherboard. I would raise holy heck about this too since you just sent it in a little bit ago to have said mb replaced.

update: got it to turn on and go to the TOSHIBA screen but all the words are pixelated and windows doesnt boot. Definitely a motherboard problem.
