Sorry Folks - I've taken your time for nothing - it was simply the 'hidden' volume control on the front edge of the laptop - an earler member had discovered this!
    Greetings!
I have inherited a satellite A100, which is a great little machine.
Problem is - there are no sounds. I have downloaded and double checked that my drivers are correct (all the Driver-checkers agree), but there is nothing from the speakers, or the headphone jack.
All the option in the sounds section are set correctly - nothing muted or set incorrectly that I can see.
When I play sound where there is some graphical indication of what's happening the line bounces around as though the music is playing.
Can anyone throw any light on what could be wrong here??
I'd love to solve this problem!
    Cheers
