I have a toshiba m100 jg2 and my computer is turning off constantly due to overheating because my cooling fan doesn't work anymore. The processor is an Intel® Centrino® Duo Processor T2300, which cpu cooling fan can I buy to replace my current one? Which ones are compatible and where can I buy them?

    Thanks!

ET00A000100 When I need to replace CPU fans I usually go to eBay first and do a search. If you buy it new and get it from a reputable seller it's just as good as buying it direct from Toshiba, but generally a fraction of the cost.

Alternately you could try sparepartswarehouse.com. I ended up using them when a part on my M700 broke and there were not any other options besides directly from Toshiba. The prices are good, but the shipping was a little steep as they only offered 2nd day air ($13.00 on a $5.00 part).

Thanks, that's perfect, my fan stopped working a while back and I thought that I might need to replace it, my friend suggested to me that my fan may just be disconnected, you wouldn't happen to know which way to get to the fan on my laptop model? Through the top (keyboard) or through the bottom?

Not a clue. I have only taken apart Toshiba Tablets (M700, M4, and 3500) and every time the fan was accessed from the bottom.

I tried returning an unopened item to sparepartswarehouse.com and the restocking fee was 70%! Ouch......mainly because they have a minimum restocking fee which usually just screws over the customer.
