My Dvd drive i believe is broken or malfunctioning now, does anyone else who owns or knows what manufacturer or model the DVD drive is in a Satellite A300. I tried looking in the instruction manual but it shows 4 possible manufacturers and i don't know how to take out my dvd drive to look at it.

To take out the DVD drive you need to take off the RAM cover. On the side, just under the cover, there should be a very small screw, on the side that house the DVD drive. Take out that screw. After it is taken out, you should be able to simply slide it out of the casing.
