What version are these? compared to the 169.09 from LaptopVideo2Go ?
169.09 released on 2007-11-12 (November 12th 2007)
and the one in the link provided by Toshiba updated on 2007-11-13 (November 13th 2007)
Anyone tried both?
Which one is better?
Which one should I used?
EDIT: sorry just realised that the page session timed out, but yeh the file version is 7.15.11.5664 and file name is display-20071113125604.zip

I'm using 169.09 in XP, and it works great. You can disable sli without rebooting, etc. I don't know what Toshiba has available, but I'm 99% sure it is not as up to date as the drivers on laptopvideo2go. They are up to 169.2?, but I haven't seen any reason to update further than 169.09 at this point.
When I got my sli3, the only driver available fromToshiba were 157.?? drivers. -
Oh, and how can I check the version currently installed on the machine? My laptop is arriving in about 10-20 hours from now :O -
I think i just answered my own question
I found this in the file (I downloaded it in the end lol)
CatalogFile = NVCO.CAT
DriverVer = 09/13/2007, 7.15.11.5664
Compared to this from this link http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=155445&page=3
Edit:-
found in the new 169.09 this
CatalogFile = NV_DISP.CAT
DriverVer = 11/12/2007, 6.14.11.6909
date is newer but the version number after it lower... -
nah, the 169.09's are newer than those you got from Toshiba.... they are just in a different series of drivers

These might be the equivalent of a new video driver listed on the American website to fix "lag" issues in games i.e. slowing down and speeding up.
Apparently they're only for the Tecra because I tried to install them and it said that it wasn't for my model.
I can't believe that they take so long to issue new official drivers. Especially when the stock ones don't work with the games they advertise with the system! -

Ok so the laptop arrived today, i didnt do a clean install, i can bare with the 1 minute startup.
I installed CounterStrike Source and did a Video Stress Test with SLi on, results where 190 average fps. Near the end it hit the 299 cap!
In-Game fps is about 90-160'ish
I have not updated the drivers at all, the pre-installed stock drivers where the ones i mentioned at the very start of this thread (November 13th 7.15.11.5664 ones)
So is there any point in updating?
The games I play run fine, the HD DVD drive is working too. Well as they say... don't fix it if it ain't broken...
BUT one thing i noticed is that when I plugged in the HDMI cable to the HDTV in the living room, i got the Blue Screen... anyone know why? -

I just did a clean install of Vista 64 bit Ultimate, do the drivers from Toshiba's website work with 64 bit? Or am I going to have to go to laptopvideo2go.com and get those to work with Vista 64?
-
I'd say if you're happy with the performance and how it's running, don't bother upgrading until it won't let you do something you want to run.... as you said, why fix if it ain't broke.... a lot of us on here are just obsessed with tweaking these things, me included, but not necessarily always needed ha
