    Here's my wish list:
I want a reasonably powerful laptop (that will at least run Battlefield 2 although not neccessarilly at full spec)

That is what I call portable:ie below 17" screen (weight not important after all I carry 2 dictionaries that weigh 3kg each so I'm no stranger to our friend gravity)

And I'd like integrated WIFi that has a decent range and connectivity etc on it.

    :decision:

oh and $2000 is my limit (I think... I'm talking £1200)

It's hard telling exactly what you need by the specs you provided, If you fill out the faq at the top of the forum and answer the questions for what you need/want and it will be much easier to tell you what fits your requirements. I might suggest a Satellite M40, with the 128 MB Radeon X600 graphics card, it is customizable at ToshibaDirect.com, although if you're in the UK, there probably is a UK version of it. It should land you fully loaded around $1750 US. That is if you are wanting only a Toshiba.

I second the Toshiba Satellite M40 for a 15.4" notebook. You can cutomize it with a 128MB Nvidia GeForce 6600 Go, which will give you the optimal amount of power for gaming. For a smaller notebook, look at the Toshiba Satellite M50, which features a 14" screen and an X600 ATI GPU, which although good, isn't as powerful as the Nvidia GeForce 6600 Go.

If it's available in your area, try Toshiba M70-SR6.
It has plenty of speed [Pentium M 750], a lot of
    memory [1GB PC2-4200], excellent video [PCIe X700
256MB], tons of HD space [100GB] etc...

    It weighs around 6 lbs.

So, this model has my vote [I own one myself ;)]
