I have some questions regarding the Toshiba Satellite 300 PSMD0C-FC508C Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 1.83GHz I just bought

First, I'm planning to install WIN XP on it, and maybe Linux. But I'm not starting, because since it didn't came packed with any recovery DVD, I'm afraid I won't be able to use the laptop if something goes worng.

QUestion is, the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator, what kind of disc creates? Can I just format C: and recover the system whit this disc?

Also, I was about to start doing a dual boot installation, only to find out that THERE ARE 4 PRIMARY PARTITIONS already on the system.

Two of them are ntfs, one containing the SO and everything, and the othr one empty (is a 6gb partition, so I guess it is there so you can make a recovery disk on that partition)

But what about the other two partitions? One is labeled EISA configuration, and has a 1,46Gb size. The other one doesn't even have a label, and it's size is 6,05 GB.

Any ideas? I was reading post on similar issues, so I assume that one of the partitions is the TSV, but there is no label.

    But 4 primaries???

Thank so much in advance, and excuse me for my labbish english!
