What is the color gamut of the P55T? Also, is it IPS?

I'm trying to compare it with the Asus that will be coming out sometime later (does anyone know when, and at what price?)

ASUS crams 4K gaming into a sleek and distinctive laptop

It says it is 100% color gamut and is an IPS screen.

Why is Asus coming up with this amazing screen though? I thought they weren't good at making good screens.

I guess the Taiwanese company Asus is the leading computer maker of today?

A lot of your questions posted would be answered if you just got out and looked?

YOU need to see what is available at BB, Costco and such and reviews of your laptop will answer many questions. I guess I like to do my homework, make a list, then ask if anyone is using something on the list. Cameras can be checked out at many sites like DPReview. The Asus 4k gamer will be weak sauce but only my opinion, more here.

This is what you said in the other post:
there is no reason to get a laptop because they are not ergonomic. Even if they are portable, they are unusable because they are not ergonomic friendly.
So why even bother ask anything about laptop?

Because they have good pixel density.

You said no reason to get a laptop, so why does it matter?
Also that 4K screen make your 720p video look less sharp, so you can forget about it.

When I wrote that I didn't have the pixel density in mind.

It would still make your 720p look less sharp, so why pixel density should matter?

You could watch 720p on an external monitor

Since you want to use external monitor, then the monitor on the laptop does not matter.

Obviously he is too lazy to search the internet and this forum , so he toss questions on the forum and wait for someone to spoon-fed him the answer.

The monitor on the laptop can be used for viewing high quality movie and reading. The external can be used for things that doesn't work well on the 4k screen.

You said laptop isnt going to be practical for most purposes (watching 720p youtube videos...).
I thought you dont watch anything over 720p?
Also, you should not flood the forum with questions, one post should be enough.

    I would love to watch 4k videos. But then I don't have a 4k camcorder nor a 4k camera.

Maybe I'll download the 4k videos on YouTube (is it possible to download movies from YouTube in 4k resolution with a Firefox addon?)

And all the sudden on firefox the youtube control gear is so small I have to aim really carefully to adjust the resolution, how can you make it big?

Also, I read that the screen is really fragile and can break very easily. Has anyone had a problem with it?

    Where did you read that?
Screen is as fragile as any other laptop like MBP.

The guy who wrote that review copied and pasted this identical review for 12 entirely different Toshiba models. There is no way to be sure which actual computer he had his negative experience with.

Why don`t you post other 11 positive reviews, and only post this one from a guy who just post the same thing on many Toshiba laptop?

Here is a review for you from a VINE customer:
Amazon.com: Jose Paez's review of Toshiba Satellite P55T-B5262 15.6-Inch Tou...

It seems to me you just hate Toshiba laptop with passion and trying everything you can to find its weakness.
If you do not like Toshiba then there is no need to not come here at all, go buy MBP.

I've just come to this forum after spending many hours in the asus, lenovo and MSI forums. I've been amazed at the number of unhelpful, and sometimes rude responses in this thread. A whole lot of them come from you. In the other forums people seem to understand that the reason people ask questions is because they want to know something. It's true sometimes they haven't done any research. But from first hand experience I can tell you that for a non techie it can be pretty hard to dig out the answer sometimes. As someone who has on occasion asked a question that has most likely already been asked, or might seem dumb to a more experienced use I know that I would not appreciate many of your responses. In any case there are multiple ways to handle someone who asks a question that has already been asked. You could take it on yourself to help the person asking the question. Or, you could just berate them for asking their question. I'm wondering why, if you have no useful response for them, you so often choose the second option rather than not responding at all.

Simple, all his behavior sums up in one line:
It seems that particular user just hate Toshiba laptop with passion and trying everything he can to bash its weakness.

He started 5 threads with 5 different questions all regarding exactly same laptop, would you
    consider it good net etiquette?
He asked questions about Costco and Bestbuy warranty, which is completely unrelated to the laptop.
He also wrote in other thread saying all laptops are useless, which sounds like a pure arrogance, yet he keeps posting questions here.
Take for example, out of all good/average reviews on amazon , he picks the only negative, questionable review and post it here,
    why would he do that?

It is one thing to ask dumb questions, it is completely another thing to ask questions that is lack of common sense and lack of reason.
And a non techie is unlikely to compare something like Color Gamut at first place.

I will only add a little to this thread for now

which color gamut range ( colorspace ) sRGB, NTSC, REC709, aRGB ... I will assume sRGB in which a number of systems are close some do have better whitepoint or better. if you want aRGB you can have that too just not in ANY Toshiba or ASUS laptop. the ONLY current models with the super accurate aRGB 10 bit per primary screens are the HP Zbook 15 and Zbook 17.

they don't make screens, they buy them from Samsung, LG, Sharp, AUO etc just like everyone else does. for that matter Toshiba actually has Quanta make most of their laptops from start to finish, and most of the big names do as well ... Apple is Just designed by Apple, made by Foxconn.
