Ah, I would prefer a clean install and download the few drivers you need from toshiba.com.

I'd also strongly recommend the clean install option. an a500-0x1 was horribly slow out of the box, plus it came with a 32bit OS, not 64 bit.
I'll start a thread later with all the drivers/programs you need after a clean install.
