    What's "LED Sidelight" ???

    I'm about to buy the R600, and noticed that item in the spec list.

    What does "LED Sidelight" mean..??

    Might be refering to the use of LEDs to light up the screen instead of the CCFL light tubes used on the bottom edge of the LCD.

    Thanks, but I hope you're wrong.

    The spec separately defines screen illumination as LED. I prefer that it means some sort of controllable keyboard illumination- but can't confirm it.

    Yeah, some of the new ones have illuminated keyboards and that may be what you saw in the specs. I looked at the R600's specs on Toshiba's website and the only thing mentioned about LEDs was the backlights for the display.
