I've been buying Thinkpads for awhile but have been casting about for a change and was wondering what's the best Toshiba model line and laptop of all their models.

Best bang for the buck toshiba right now it the M645 from Best Buy for 799.99. core i5, 500 gig 7200 rpm drive, optimus graphics switching, ~8 hrs battery life with the bigger battery std. Sam config from toshiba direct is over $1000.

What exactly do you need in laptop?

I worked as Toshiba technician, from my point of view any Tecra and Portege series is No1 choice, after that Satellite Pro.

Tecra has under 1% failure rate and is virtually unbreakable unit

From what I've been able to find, the Qosmio X505 series is Toshiba's best model line. Pricey, but for the specs., I don't think you can argue. I'm thinking of getting the Qosmio X505-Q890 myself. Maybe Stihy can give some imput to the Qosmio line. But I'm 99% certain I'm going to buy the Q890.

Why not go for an ASUS G73?
Has a much better GPU, probably cheaper also.
