Whats going on with Toshiba Satelliate P100's in the UK and Europe?

Im after a nice DTR Toshiba laptop and have been looking at all the nice new models with 7900GS's and 7900 GTX's in the US.

Unfortunately Toshiba Europe seems to be lagging behind and are still selling and promoting models with the 7600 GS, in 128MB and 256MB guises.

Recently the Toshiba "Europe" page recently added a bunch of "coming soon" P100 models...some with 512MB 7900GS cards.

While certainly an improvement, no one is selling or even advertising these yet.


Even more annoying is that if you specify your region as being in the UK, only 2 relatively poor and outdated models are shown.

This is a major pain! Does anyone in the UK know of anyone stocking the new models? Should I wait another month or so, or import from the US? (I think CompUSA might export overseas).

Any help appreciated.

 

We had no advance warning in the US regarding these models. I even ordered a P105-S921 then found out they were discontinued. Then I ordered a P100-ST9212 and the following day the P100-ST9012 was released. I was able to cancel and get the P100-ST9012.

Based on this I would expect for them to appear in Europe soon. We had no advance notice on this slew of models as I expect you won't either. You could try to contact your toshiba direct person in Europe and find out when they are being released. That would be your best bet. I couldn't find a phone number on the Europe site, but I bet you could hunt one down or call the support number.
