When you use a 4k laptop (toshiba) to watch movies does it look more grainy?

Even if a movie is 1.6 GB it has pretty good sharpness on my MBP.

But on 4k laptops would it take no less than a whopping 6GB bluray file to keep the sharpness?

It depends on what media player you use, which codec and internal filter you set at, and how much effort are you willing to take to make it look as sharp as you want. It also depends on how good your video file is, there is only so much you can do if the file has been heavily compressed.

In my personal experience, I watch any videos fine on my 4K laptop, ranging from 720p all the way up to super high quality 4K video.

Toshiba made the screen grainy but putting a anti finger print coating on screen by default. This really doesn't have anything to do with the actual software although, and likely nt your question, but it is there regardless.

The screen has a color noise-alike filter inside screen, and they are more noticeable when you browse websites, or when there are
lots of pure white color on screen, such as the background of this site.
It bothers some people, it does not bother some others, you have to see it to make judgment by yourself.
But I seriously doubt that you will notice them when you watch movies.

Where can you see it to judge for myself?
Is there a brick and mortar building you know of in a major city that you can actually see this laptop?
