I just purchased the Toshiba A205- S5812 laptop and I'll be darned if I can find that number any place on this computer. Am I blind or does Toshiba hide its model number someplace not easily seen.
The plate on the under side says Model # but it looks nothing like a Toshiba model number.

Go to the Toshiba support website and look for your system, then compare with the specs. Each system number has a singularity: processor speed, amount of ram, video, hdd, etc.

Here is the detailed specs of the system:

The Model Number will be "PSAF3U-XXXXXX" with the X's being your specific model. This will be on the bottom of the laptop right below the "Satellite A205-S5812" and above the Serial Number.
The A205-S5812 is not specific enough to get the full part number from Toshiba, only the first half of it. The first half is the general model, with the second half designating the exact details of the model and is neccesary when looking up replacement part numbers.
Where is the model number?
