Like many here as soon as I got my computer I reformatted and reinstalled a base version of the Vista OS. However, the last few days I've had a bit of time on my hands so I decided I'd explore a few of th applications that came with the computer.
I didn't want to do a recovery from the original DVD images because it was so unbelievable bloated, so I downloaded all the apps from the website. Here's a list ...
Hardware Setup - Used to configure some BIOS and hardware settings
SuperVisor Password - USed to set a Poweron password in the BIOS
User Password
Disc Creator - Handy, I've been using this.
HD/DVD Player - I use this as well
CD Silencer - Potentially useful, and it uses negligible memory
Modem Software - Don't see this as useful
Value Added Apps
PC Diag - Could be handy - Runs some hardware tests as well as a sys info tool
Button Support - Potentially Useful
Flash Cards - Pretty useful - the newest update makes things run a lot smoother
Bluetooth - Important
ConfigFree - Handy - Lets a user set profiles for various locations - though Vista might do this as well
Toshiba Assist - As far a I can tell, should a shortcut tool for the other apps as well as a few windows tools
Mobility Tiles - Adds 2 tiles to the Mobility Center - One for Toshiba Assist and the other to lock the computer
SD Memory Card format - Seems to give the option to do a low level format
Zooming Utility - Doesn't vista have this built in?
Anyway - Just curious what you guys use!
Which Toshiba apps do you use?
