    HI guys ,

I am a graduate student in Information technology .I planned to buy a toshiba labtop

The options that I have selected are :

    1- Satallite M40 1.7 , 512 DDR , 60 GB , 15 screen = 1400 $

2- Qosmio F10 , 1.7 , 512 DDR , 60 GB , 15 screen , 2100 $ ( the only difference that i relaize is the screen Geforce which you can see movies and work for a long period of time normally )

3- Terca M4 from the net ( since the retailer don't have it yet )

    Can any body help ?
is 1.7 for the processor speed is good for the next 2 years ?
would I be able to run windows vista on it ?!

    Thanks

MS has said that any P4 processor will run vista, just the ones in the lower range won't provide the 'optimal experience'. Personally I think that 1.7 will do fine.

Out of those three I would go for the M40.
I was thinking about going for a Qosmio too, but they really aren't worth that extra money. Plus those extra 2-3 pounds are a lot of extra weight.
I don't know much about the Tecra M4, but if a tablet PC would do you best at your future job I'd go for it.

The processor is just a part of the whole package, Windows Vista(longhorn) is believed to require a good graphics card with DX9 capability(most PCI expresss graphics cards) for it to work with all the glitter. The processor should be fine for the next Windows version but do remember to keep the graphics card in mind when making the purchase with future compatibility in mind.

Of the 3, the Tecra is IMO the best option, the Tecras being the business series generally have better build quality & support than the satellites. The Qosimo is frankly a bit overpriced as similar models from other manufacturers of similar quality are much cheaper & therefore better value.
