Which of these chipsets run hotter, (or cooler)....
I thought it was AMD. I heard, correct me if I'm wrong, they are more efficient.
Also is battery life similar on both of these chipsets?
thanks

I have heard that generally AMD chips do run a little hotter.

I have the Toshiba X205-9349 with Intel T7300 2Ghz cpu and an HP 9225us that my son uses with a AMD Turion 2Ghz cpu and so far I noticed the Turion does exhaust hotter air than my T7300 and the fan on the HP is on at higher speeds as well, so I would say the AMD's run hotter.

AMD: 31-35W

Intel: 34W (Core 2 Duo T7200)

Strangely enough, the older Pentium M has 24.5W maximum

So they seem to run the same, but Intel might be more efficient as a processor thus working less, thus less heat... but to be honest I know very little about the AMD chips. -
thanks for the info!

They should be around the same.
It is probably more dependent on how the heatsink/fan is set up and where the cpu is located.
Who runs hotter, Intel or AMD Turions?
