    Hello all,

Well I've resigned myself that I will have to travel to the US to buy the X205-S9359. The version they sell up here in Canada simply blows (lower screen res, 4200 rpm HDD, no HD-DVD or TV tuner).

From Montreal I can easily drive to Vermont or NY, but I have found that not many of the big electronics retailers seem to carry the 9359 (Best Buy for example only has the 49). Amazon is not good, they do not ship computers across the border and I have no US address.

I found that Circuit City carry it, but not at their Williston store (closest to me). Not such a big deal, they have it in NYC. A longer trip, but doable...

However, am I missing on other stores that may have it in stock closer to home?

    All suggestions appreciated!

    Thanks for your time,

    Jeeps

Compusa also carries it. Not sure what is near the border.

Pugwinston: Thanks for the tip - they have no store in the entire state of Vermont... But NYC is possible, along with CC.

Zoltang: As I mentioned in my initial post, they only seem to carry the 49 model (at least if you believe their web site). Have you seen the 59 sold there?

    Thanks,

    Jeeps

    costco has them.
    Best Buy
    Office Depot
    Circuit City

I can't think of anyone else right now. Definately call in advance for stock.

If Costco does have it in stock, that would be the place to get it. They have it for $2199 right now.

I believe Best Buy only sells the lower end model. You can get the higher end model online but that won't do you any good. At least that's how Best Buy is doing it here in Tampa, FL. I had to buy elsewhere.

    Slenser,
    Ojchillinndc,

Thank you both for your input.

Unfortunately none of these stores have the '59 in stock in a brick and mortar location anywhere in the state of Vermont.

Guess it'll be travel to NY in the near future...

Twas worth a try, but such is the price of buying upper-end models... small market.

where in canada? when i went to michigan they had it in the best buy...but it was the lower end model...still very good but i would prefer the higher res, better processor and more vram for future proof..should have it at any best buy though for much less, then smuggle it across the border and u got a steal lol only like 6% percent tax there compared to ****ty 14% for ontario

    Narsnail,

It may then comfort you that the Quebec sales tax is even worse... 15.5%

However there are many things that more than make up for it... If you've ever walked around downtown Montreal on a nice summer day you'll know what I mean

Jeeps, you may be able to call the store ahead of time and have it special-ordered and available for pickup. You may be able to save a long drive. :) May take a few days to for them to get it, but it may save you a lot of gas/travel time.
