I see what you mean. Aside from the hard drive and included TV tuner, it's got pretty standard specs.

Considering you could get a really nice Sager for that price...

    Dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT

    pffff....

what a waste of money, i guess toshiba has too many of those 8600gt so decided to pack two in one box and charge for three (not free)

how is that a good price if 8600sli preforms significally worse than a single 8800gts not to mention 9800gtx.

as they guy above said the clevo/sager you could configure in that price would draw 3d circles around that toshiba while in Deep C4 state. :p

It could have a x9000 and it still wouldn't be a good deal, games uttilize a graphics card more than a cpu now days. Dual 8600m gt's are good, but not 2,400$ good. For just 1800$ you could get a sager that beats the toshiba into the ground.

well I have the sli1, and I think the cost comes in the quality of the build and extras like the harmon kardon speakers the keyboard the finger print scanner the 6 usb ports etc.

I did see the gateway gaming laptop at best buy and in my opinion the toshiba laptop feels like the build is more quality. I think the other brands at that price cut corners on things like speakers and such.

Yeah the 8600m gts are getting old but dual vid cards can really push graphics on screen. It handles Call of Duty 4 multiplayer and single player at max graphical settings at 1440x900 at a very good clip just to give an indication of the graphical prowess.

Although I hope the next generation of x205 sli will incorporate higher end gpus. I would definitley purchase another.

    I assume you mean "not".

There are always overpriced laptops in the market. This isn't anything new.
