My Portege 4000 has a missing key and a dodgy accupoint.
The little metal pointer under the accupoint pad has ceased up, which isn't a big deal since I use a mouse most of the time. But I'm having trouble finding a single "B" key, so am thinking about getting a whole new keyboard.
Just wondering if the accupoint is integrated into the keyboard?
It would take the sting out of purchasing an whole new keyboard just to replace one key.

In most cases, the accupoint is integrated into the keyboard. If it needs fixing, usually you need to get a new keyboard. If you're just missing a key, you can buy a defective one or a new one from eBay, this will be a lot cheaper than buying a new Toshiba keyboard.

Anywhere else I can try?
I've tried a few ebay sellers but they don't have the key I need. -
Sorry, I don't know where else you can try. If not from eBay, then you might just have to get yourself a new keyboard. You can replace it yourself fairly easily. This way, you can get a new keyboard with a working accupoint.

Yep I had to get a whole new keyboard. Which wasn't as bad as I thought.. I got one for AUD$90 delivered, and now my accupoint is working too. And now I've got a nearly full set of spare keys.

I also have a dodgy Accupoint on my Portege 4000 myself--the pointer slowly moves around, especially if the lid isn't opened properly. All I'd do is adjust the screen or give the palmrest a moderate tap, and it stops moving around.
Will new keyboard fix Portege 4000 accupoint?
