I bought a new Toshiba U305-S2816 with Intel 4965 AGN, and my wireless router is a D-Link Dir-655, but the max speed is 130 MBps. When I use the USB adaptor D-Link DWA-130, the speed is always 300 MBps. I don't know what is happenig with the Intel 4965 AGN. Can anybody help me? :(

Is there some thing you have to change in the properties of the wireless card?

If any wireless devices on a wireless-n router are wireless a/b/g, the router will switch its broadcast frequency to accomodate that device, thus lowering its speed. Check that this is not the case with your network.

I am in a similar situation. One of my PCs has a D-Link N Wi-Fi card and it refuses to connect at 300 with my Netgear router. The ROUTER works at 300 because my other PC has a NETGEAR N Wi-Fi card and it is connected at 300. I spoke to the guys from NETGEAR and it seems that there is an incompatibility with some devices. You might experience the same problem. I am also afraid that when my ASUS U6Sg-A1 arrives it will not connect at 300 :(.

The other computer uses Draft-N DWA-552.

    check out the networking/wifi section!!!!!!!!

since you have a dlink dir 655, almost any dlink N device should get 300mbps

but the intel card will not get more than 130mbps w/ a single band N router -- to do so you have to have a dual band router using 2.4 and 5GHz

This had been discussed at length in the wifi section..........
