I’m having a little trouble with my wireless network. I think it is something with my laptop but would like to get some suggestions on how to troubleshoot the problem. It’s a Toshiba m105-s3041 and a netgear rangmax router. This was my first laptop so when I got I also installed a wireless network. The problem is the connection seems to disappear. Say if click on a link the wireless pc icon lights up. Well sometimes the icon will light then go black and the page will not be completed. Another example is if I’m downloading something it will be going along just fine and then icon goes black and the download stops where it’s at and it may start downloading again a minute later. The status always shows connected and single strength very good. If I plug into the router and turn off the wireless everything works smoothly. Where should I start looking first?

As a places to start: shutdown your firewall, and update your card's drivers and router's firmware. See if that helps.

I think the problem may be fixed. I read on another post about configfree having conflicks with windows. If I close configfree the wireless runs without stopping. Web pages now pop right up and downloads don’t stop midway. Now which program would be best to shutdown? I tried going in the msconfig to locate configfree to keep it from coming on at start up but everything that I thought was it was not. Any idea what configfree would be identified as or if its better to stop the windows program what is it identified as?

    Thanks

Can you find it in Add/Remove Programmes, or is that not a option?

You can setup configfree to don't start with windows.
Dosn't need uninstall (but you can! noboody use it, anyway!)

    Regards.
