I know this isn't a message board for whiners but there's no point of me being on here anymore. Why? well very few of you know but Im in the make a wish foundation and I of course wished for a shopping spree at Best Buy. They said "O sure go ahead, just make a list of all the things you want from there." I was like sweet! I looked at all the gaming laptops and I of course chose the x305. Then later on I picked out a few games for it. so I emailed the list to the volunteers who helped organize my wish. So here I am, at my girlfriends house and the make a wish people call me and say that since a laptop was included in the list in best buy they cant make that wish. the only laptops i can get are donated ones and some donated games! YA OK! who the hell is going to donate a x305?! NOBODY! If I were to donate a laptop it would be one i found off the **** street! I joined this site being real confident on getting this laptop. Now there is no point of being here. Whats worse is that everyday before this I was constantly thinking about opening up that package for the x305 and playing oblivion and far cry 2. sorry for whining to you guys but this is the only way of letting out my anger!

Let me get this straight.... you're in the make a wish foundation, cause you're dying of cancer? And you get upset cause you wont get an x305?
Um, why not LIVE your life to the fullest while you can? Go to disneyland, go for a helicopter ride, go see paris! Sheesh, why stay in doors gaming?
I'm just bewildered at your selfishness <s>numbnuts</s>numchuk (the correct term is "nunchaku" anyway).

Well not cancer but diabetes. If i was dying of cancer then ya of course i wont wish for a laptop. I guess I am a little selfish but Ive been on this piece of crap desktop for about 3 or more years now and the most demanding game for it is morrowind... It just makes me mad because they say they can do something then they wont....at the very last minute.

You do realize, that the make a wish foundation is funded by all volunteers and private donations? They don't have unlimited resources.

Is your diabetes fatal? It was my understanding only terminally ill patients could be on this list, but I could be wrong. If you are terminally ill, I'm truly sorry, and I hope you can live out the rest of your life to the fullest.
If not, I wish you good luck, and hope you learn the value of material things. When you have to work hard and save for something, it gives you a sense of pride and places much more value on the item than if it was just handed to you.

My friend met Will Smith through Make A Wish. At least be a little more creative ;).

I'm not so sure the point of the Make a Wish Foundation is to give brand new laptops out, it's more about small gifts that can warm the heart or setting up an experience that involves meeting someone or being something for a day.

Maybe you just got your hopes up too much, but I don't think you should be mad at Make a Wish. Sorry about your diabetes but hopefully you can find a way to get your laptop, setting a goal and working to earn money that will buy you that laptop is certainly the best path. And a dignified and rewarding process once you achieve that goal :)

You're upset because you set your hopes on a free laptop. This forum is about a lot more than free laptops, but if you don't care about anything else, and you're just going to whine, than you're probably right. You have no place here. :GEEK:

Hey, it ain't all lost. First of all pray the rosary. Put God first above everything then all your needs will be provided for in some way. Also accept the crosses that he gives you and offer it up as your own sacrafice along with Jesus' how He accepted and offered his self to the Father. This way you won't suffer in vain. And yes you can do this with any difficulty that comes in life.

Reading your story about how you had diabetes made me think of syringes and then I prayed because my girlfriends mother had it and how she had to suffer, enlightened me to think of the game "The Suffering" which you can download for free on Fileshack.com and since it ain't so demanding it'll run on your computer.

    Don't thank me. Thank God.

Don't feel bad numchuk. Others have done far worse than this thread here, believe me. I was going to leave cause I got all upset at not being made a mod, and at the same time I destroyed all standing and respect I had with other members here, while powerpack I believe holds the ban record here at NBR. :D Yet we still seem to be welcome here, and I'd say you are too. :) Just because you can't get a toshiba doesn't mean you should leave, but that's up to you.
Hope you get your diabetes under control, so it doesn't control your life. :)
