I'm trying to run the sound from my x205 throught my home theatre, I have it connected from the hdmi out on my 205 to hdmi in on the home theatre but I am not getting any sound, I have selected Digital output device(hdmi) in playback devices but no luck, any advice? The home theatre is a Sony Bravia HT-SS2300

Did you select HDMI or the Digital output? The "Digital Output" device is the Optical output, and I think there is one that says HDMI. Also, make sure that the HDMI output is configured for the right number of channels and the right audio format and bitrate in the Properties section.

I actually had the same problems as you are having now. I had my sound set to HDMI as my default output but could not get any sound to my home theater speakers. I tried everything, updated my sound drivers, configured my speakers, checked for any driver conflicts, swapped HDMI cables, nothing! Finally, I started Windows Media Center and all the sudden my sound came on thru the HDMI cable. It's worth a try.

You will have to check which version of the Graphic card driver for your laptop, i had the same problem before and i had to reinstall the graphic card driver and realtek audio driver as well before i can get any sound on. Don't know what its got to do with each other but i think your best bet is to try. LOL.
